We want anyone who needs a bee or wasp removed to be able to use this site, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

What have we done so far?

We have done nine specific things, listed below, and each one is verifiable on any page.

• Every page is built from semantic HTML with a single main heading and a logical heading order.
• The whole site can be operated from the keyboard, including the menu, the accordions, the photo viewer and the carousels.
• A “skip to content” link is the first thing a keyboard or screen reader user reaches.
• Focus is always visible, and it is moved and returned deliberately when a menu or dialog opens and closes.
• Text and interface colours are chosen to keep a clear contrast against their backgrounds.
• Animation is reduced automatically when your device is set to “reduce motion”.
• Photographs carry alternative text, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
• Form fields have visible labels, helpful error messages and appropriate input types and autocomplete.
• Touch targets are at least 44–48px, and text can be enlarged without the layout breaking.

What are the known limitations?

The known limitation is that no independent specialist has audited the site. This is an ongoing effort rather than a finished certification, and issues we have not found still remain.
